The world of painting is at your fingertips!
Paint is a fascinating artistic medium that allows us to explore endless creative possibilities.
Together, we will learn about the conceptual, sensory, and formal sides of painting. We will also look at the rich history and vibrant contemporary life of paint. Learning from other artists of the past and present, we will broaden our understanding of how we can stretch creative boundaries with paint!
Each week, using watercolor and acrylic paints, students will learn through experience about a new aspect of painting. As we discover the different sources and processes that painters use to create their work, students will try these for themselves.
Throughout our exploration of painting, we will focus on:
- Paintings created from observation of life
- Paintings created from observation of photographs
- Paintings created from our memories and imaginations
- Portrait painting
- Landscape painting
- Abstract painting
- Illustrative painting
- Complimentary colors
Throughout this 15 week course, we will be investigating some painting topics such as:
- Contemporary painting
- Renaissance painting
- Color Field painting
- Impressionism
- Surrealism
- Aboriginal Dreamtime painting
- historical paintings from many cultures
Students will learn how to tell a story with paint, observe and record the environment around them, and express their ideas with color, texture, and line. Improve your artistic skills, and invite yourself to explore this magical and transformative world of painting!
- Each class is 90 minutes long
- These classes are for 8 – 12 years old students
- Classes are taught online. In order to control the best quality of class, each class only holds 4 – 6 students.

Refund Policy
Due to limited availability, once you are registered for a class(es), Vineyard Artists will reserve the spot for you.
If after the first class, you are not satisfied, we will give you a full refund of the remaining tuition.
If you are requesting a refund after the second class, you may either transfer to a different class or accept a refund equal to half of the remaining tuition minus 2.9% processing fee.
Reschedule and Absent Policy
We understand unexpected events happen that can prevent you from attending class. Please contact us 24 hours in advanced to reschedule or keep class the credit. No-shows are considered as giving up the class and will not receive extra class credits or refunded tuition.
- If enrolled in 8 classes: 2 excused absents or rescheduled classes (if there is availability in another class) are allowed.
- If enrolled in 15 classes: 4 excused absents or rescheduled classes (if there is availability in another class) are allowed.
