Let’s follow the music, travel America!
Music not only touches the soul, sometimes even our whole body will move with it! There are many different styles of music all over the world. The rhythm and melodies in the music tell stories of different people and cultures. In this series of courses, we will learn about the most distinctive music styles of many countries, such as the United States and South American countries – like Brazil, Cuba, and Argentina. Let us begin in America!
Covering one theme for two weeks, the teacher will introduce a music style and its historical background. Taking classic repertoire from each style as an example, we will guide the children to understand the characteristics of it. We have selected four out of many important American styles for this class:
Next part in the lesson is everyone’s favorite….
It is not enough to hear, appreciate, and understand music. At Vineyard Artists, we guide the students to learn to “feel” the melody and rhythm. The teacher will personally design and record basic rhythmic training for the students. Start with “feeling the music” then welcome the students to clap it or tap it-using their most natural way to develop sensitivity to the rhythm and beat.
