Michael Greenberg is a teaching artist who is passionate about the transformative and healing powers of the arts. While he certainly enjoyed the arts throughout his childhood, he began to focus on them seriously while in college. He received his bachelor’s degree majoring in Studio Art as well as English from Amherst College in 2010. After teaching art in a variety of settings including high schools, community centers, and summer camps, he received his master’s degree in Expressive Arts Therapies from Lesley University in the spring of 2021. Michael’s work can be found at michaeldanielgreenberg.weebly.com. His artwork has been included in a number of juried group exhibitions and one of his pieces is part of the Mead Art Museum’s collection.
While his own practice is geared towards mixed-media installation art, he loves to draw and paint and finds teaching these subjects to be rewarding, inspiring, and very fun. He is so excited to be able to work with and learn from the community at Vineyard Artists! He feels his role as the teacher is to create an atmosphere in which every student’s inner artist feels supported and nurtured so that creativity can be expressed fully and without judgement. He is very process oriented and loves trying to help people connect with themselves and the worlds around them through the arts.
